The Adult Community Mental Health Services in Great Yarmouth and Waveney is a health and social care community team providing assessment, treatment and support for people over the age of 25 who are experiencing mental health issues. The Adult Community Mental Health Services in Great Yarmouth and Waveney follows the principles of recovery and social inclusion and works closely with partner agencies both voluntary and statutory. It incorporates the teams formerly known as the Eastern Recovery Team (now Great Yarmouth CMHT) and the Waveney Recovery Team (now Waveney CMHT).

What this service offers
People who use this service will be living with the following conditions:
- Bipolar disorder
- Complex PTSD (Post-traumatic Stress Disorder)
- Personality disorder
- Schizophrenia
- Severe anxiety
- Severe depression
When somebody is referred to the Adult Community Mental Health Services in Great Yarmouth and Waveney, one of our doctors, social workers, nurses or occupational therapists assesses them.
This assessment forms the basis of the treatment they will receive from us, jointly decided between them and their assessor.
They could require our service, or they could be signposted to a more appropriate one.
Once accepted to the Adult Community Mental Health Services in Great Yarmouth and Waveney, any interventions are time limited. Our team holds regular reviews to enable us to work towards safe discharges from our service for those that use it.
People who use this service may be seen at their home or in a Trust building.
Access this service
The Adult Community Mental Health Services in Great Yarmouth and Waveney can only take referrals from GPs. If somebody thinks they require help, they should contact their family doctor. Our team will also work with people if they have already been treated by our inpatient services.
How this service support carers including friends and family
The Adult Community Mental Health Services in Great Yarmouth and Waveney offer assessments for carers and they may also be entitled to a personal budget to support their social care needs. Our team also refers to MIND, the voluntary agency, for individual or group support.
