  1. Abbeygate Ward

    Abbeygate Ward, based at Wedgwood House in West Suffolk, is an assessment and treatment inpatient ward. Abbeygate Ward looks after older people in West Suffolk who have a physical health need and a mental health need. Some of the inpatient beds on Abbeygate Ward are for the care of people with dementia.

    Our Adult Learning Disability Inpatient Service Suffolk is based at Walker Close. We offer an inpatient assessment and treatment for adults with a learning disability.

  3. Avocet Ward

    Avocet Ward is an inpatient ward based at Woodlands on the Ipswich Hospital site in East Suffolk. Avocet Ward provides care for women of all ages who meet our admission criteria. Avocet Ward offers care to women whose mental health is at its most acute. As a result, these women are unable to receive appropriate care in the community.

  4. Beach Ward

    Beach Ward is an inpatient ward located at the Julian Hospital in Norwich, Norfolk. Beach Ward provides care for older men. But there isn’t a fixed age criteria for admissions. The ward offers admission for acute care needs, assessment and treatment planning.

  5. Blickling Ward

    Blickling ward is a mixed gender inpatient assessment unit for older persons in Norfolk. The ward is located on the Julian Hospital site in Norwich

  6. Dragonfly Unit

    The Dragonfly Unit is a general adolescent psychiatric unit that has general psychiatric beds and eating disorder beds. The service is for young people who are experiencing an acute mental health disorder that cannot be safely managed in a community setting.

  7. Glaven Ward

    Glaven Ward is at the Hellesdon Hospital site in Norwich, Norfolk. Our Glaven Ward team cares for men in an inpatient setting. They offer assessment and treatment for those who are experiencing acute mental illness. Safe care in the community is not considered an option at this stage.

  8. Great Yarmouth and Waveney Acute Inpatient Service

    Our Great Yarmouth and Waveney Acute Inpatient Service supports adults who have a severe and lasting mental health issue. The team provides support to inpatients and those in the local community.

  9. Kingfisher Mother and Baby Unit

    The Kingfisher Mother and Baby Unit (MBU) offers hospital admissions for women and their babies. This is where home treatment is not appropriate. And when mother is experiencing perinatal mental health problems.

  10. Lark Ward

    Lark Ward is at the Woodlands Unit in Ipswich Hospital. It is a Psychiatric Intensive Care Ward (PICU). Our Lark Ward team cares for both men and women over the age of 18 in an inpatient setting, providing care and treatment for men and women in the most critical time of their mental health recovery. The team offers a more intensive service than other inpatient wards. This is due to our environment, levels of staffing and number of people cared for on the ward.

  11. Laurel Ward

    Laurel Ward in Lowestoft offers ongoing assessment and stabilisation of dementia care needs for people over 65 years in the Great Yarmouth and Waveney area.  The team works closely with the individual and their family or carers to develop a person-centred care plan to meet the person's needs.

  12. Men's Low Secure Services (Norfolk) (Blakeney Ward)

    Blakeney Ward is a 16-bed ward for offending males or males at risk of offending who have a mental illness and who need a low secure setting. It is for men over the age of 18. Blakeney Ward is in Northside House.

  13. Men's Secure Service (Catton Ward)

    Catton Ward is a medium-secure ward providing admission/assessment and rehabilitation. We admit male individuals who are suffering from a mental illness who require a period of assessment. The service admits from a number of sources including prisons and other Medium Secure Units.

  15. Northgate Ward

    Northgate Ward is an acute admissions inpatient ward. The ward cares for men and women over the age of 18 in the West Suffolk area.
