Izobel Clegg, Research Assistant Psychologist
I manage REACH which is a central point of access to research for clinical teams, community partners and the public. Through REACH we accept referrals from people interested in participating in mental health research, collect information regarding wellbeing/cultural needs and preferences, and identify appropriate research opportunities.
I enjoy being part of a process which makes research opportunities more accessible. I love seeing the enrichment that participating in research can provide to people’s lives.
It is exciting to know that, through my work in making research more accessible, I am helping to advance our understanding of mental health and develop more effective methods of care.
I think that taking part in mental health research can provide opportunities for participants to reflect on their experiences and obtain gratification from the knowledge that sharing them can help to improve care and services.
